MPS Challenge

Ok, so I found out that my little sister will be helping with a church position which means she will need a bunch of cards.  So I was sitting and thinking of what to do and came across this challenge from My Pink Stamper.  The challenge that she put out was to use the colors Pink, Green, Orange and Brown.  So I got thinking about the challenge and realized that I had the PERFECT paper!!  The background paper is from DCWV The Glitter Stack.  LOVE IT!!!!!  I thought since I needed to really challenge myself I should go out on a limb with what I put on the card.  Normally I like to use real life colors for designs - red and black ladybugs, green caterpillars, etc . . . well on this one I tried something different for me. :)  I hope you like the way it turned out.  I was pleasantly surprised with how they turned out.  The Lady Bug and Turtle are from Walk In My Garden and cut at 2 1/2 inches.  The sentiment is from a stamp set I got a long time ago, sorry I need to keep better track. :)  Thanks for looking!!!

Another Birthday Card

Alright - this one is for my niece.  She turns 18 in about a week.  She is soooooo excited!!!!!!  It didn't turn out as cute as I wanted, but it works.  I used the DS software to stretch the border and weld the letters in her name together.  I cut her name out twice, one in pink the other in the black.  I didn't have the right colors to make the card work the way I wanted to (I'm at my in-laws), so I had to use what I had.  It's not my favorite, but I hope it's the thought that counts.  Happy Birthday to my dearest Ash!!!!

Birthday Month

Well, this is a busy month!!!!  I have a ton of family members with Birthdays in July (including mine)!!!!!  YEAH BIRTHDAYS!!!!!!!  This one is for my nephew.  He's big into NASCAR right now, and used to like Disney's Cars - so hopefully he'll like it.  I used the Cars cartridge and cut the card at 3 inches.  Looking back I wish I would have made him a bigger card and cut Lightning McQueen bigger.  Cutting him at 3 inches has parts that are too little.  The black, sparkly paper was something I found at a thrift store, so I'm not sure what brand it is; and like most of my stuff the rest of it is made from scraps. :)  Happy Birthday to my cute Nephew!!!!!!

I'm Back!!!

Ok, sorry for the lack of posts.  My Grandfather had a heart attack earlier this week.  It was a very scary situation, but he's doing great now.  I'll be posting some cards later today.  Sorry it's been so long!

Need a Good Book

Ok, so this isn't a card; but it's something equally close to my heart!!!!  My Aunt, Ruth Davidson, has a new book out.  I'm soooooo excited!!!!!!  Her new book is called "Catch the Morning Star", and it is my favorite so far!!!!!  Ruth is an LDS author (belongs to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints AKA Latter Day Saints AKA Mormon).  She wrote these books because she found many romance novels to be too . . . (for a lack of better word) dirty.  If you're interested in looking at her books you can visit her site (click here).  Like I said, not a card, but they make great gifts (just ask my Sisters-in-law and Mother-in-law).  TFL!!

WOW, Fun/Amazing Blog Hop

So I was searching through Blog land and found "Made by Momo".  She has the cutest things that she has done.  Right now she is doing a blog hop featuring 9 other amazing crafters.  Going through all of the blogs,  I AM AMAZED.  These ladies have such an amazing talent, you really should check them out!!!!  I just wanted to share. :)

WARD CRAFT NIGHT!!!!!! YEAH!!!!

I LOVE ward craft night!!  It's so fun to see what everyone is doing!  I worked on a little box/bag with matching cards.  I'd like to use it for my family reunion (we do an auction with donated items to earn money for the next year).  I may need to make another one to give for the auction . . . my little lady wanted to 'help' hold things; since this looks like a purse - this is what she wanted to 'help' me take to the car.  **I do love my little helpers though!!!!!**  If you look closely at the box you can see that it was squished, I also had to re-attach the flower.   I don't mind, I may just give it to her anyways (that will make her WEEK)!  I chose the colors for this card because I love to watch Emma (My Creative Time) and she was doing a challenge.  Every Thursday she goes over an older Cricut cart.  This week she did 'Stretch Your Imagination'.  If you don't have this cart you just have to use  Blue, Brown and Red.

I was also able to help one of the ladies think of an idea to use instead of the brown paper bag albums.  I let her keep the one we made, but I think I'm going to make one for the reunion.  I'll post pictures as soon as I make one myself. :)  Thanks for stopping by!!!!!!!

Thank You!

Well, long story short - I have the best family ever!!!!!!  I seriously don't know what I would do without my family (both sides, extended, etc.) Until I'm able to thank each family member individually I wanted to take a moment and make a special card for my Sister-In-Law to thank her for everything she has done (for one - she's letting me borrow a car since mine died).  I'm not sure what her favorite flower is, but I hope she likes it.  I thought it turned out pretty good, even my husband said "Wow, that looks really cool!" instead of his usual "hmmm", or "Yeah".  Thanks for checking it out!

In-Laws Anniversary

My wonderful In-laws have an anniversary coming up next week.  I was trying to figure out what to do for the card and was at a loss.  I love to follow Emma's blog, My Creative Time, and she did the most wonderful thing.  She has a Throwback Thursday video that she just posted.  She goes through some of the older cartridges (this was her first post).  This week she used Animal Kingdom (which is a cart I have, YEAH!!) and she challenged others to use it.  Well, I decided to look through it again and I remembered I had wanted to use the fishies (Fishy Kisses).  I LOVED the way this turned out.  I hope they like it!!!! ** I also found out that this could work for Polka Doodles challenge that they have going on.  Check it out.**

I hope my In-laws enjoy this one.  It turned out super cute!!!!!  I even had a shiny paper that I used for the bowl!  Happy Anniversary to my wonderful In-Laws!

The fishies look a little too shiny in the pictures, so it looks a little funny.  Sorry about that!!

Happy Birthday Sis!!

I made this card for my younger sister.  I can't say 'little' sister because she's taller than me (and a lot tougher).   I used the Hannah Montana cartridge to get the butterfly.  My little girl wanted to make a card for my sister that had Hannah Montana on it, but I re-directed her thoughts away from that and towards something else.  So my little girl decided that we needed to make a card using a butterfly and flower.  We hope she enjoys it!  Happy Birthday Stevie!!!

Father's Day

I just have to say that I have some amazing men in my life.  My dearest Husband (who is such a great Dad to our children), my amazing Dad, and my sweet Dad-in-law.  With Father's Day coming up I had a chance to make some cards.  I also read that My Pink Stamper is having a challenge to create a Father's Day project; I figured I needed these cards, so I wanted to make them.  One thing that I make sure to do is talk to my little ones and ask them what they love about each Grandpa and their Daddy.

My kids told me that one of their favorite things about my Dad is that they love to go feed the horses with him.  Each time we go down they make sure to buy carrots to feed to the neighbor's horses (they checked with the neighbors to make sure it was OK).  Such a simple thing, but it means the world to my little ones.  So for my Dad I made this card using the Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge and a few pop dots (love those things).

When asked, my children told me that their favorite thing about their Daddy was when they play with him, and when they go 4-wheeling (a family activity).  This was made using the Camp Out cartridge (the best one for my family).  I hope my Hubby likes it. :)  My kids even picked out the colors to match his 4-wheeler.

 I didn't get a chance to make one for my wonderful Dad-in-law yet.  Just wait, I really want to make a good one (just not enough time).  I'll get it done soon though!!!! :)

Mom and Dad's Anniversary

My parents' anniversary is at the end of the month.  I'm so glad to have such wonderful parents!!!!!!  This is a card I made for them, hopefully they don't watch my blog too often.  It's made from my new Home Decor cartridge (LOVE IT!!!!!), I hope you enjoy. :)

I wanted to take a close-up picture of the heart.  I LOVE IT!!!!  I think it turned out perfect!  Well - perfect enough.

Birthday Cake

So with today being my little girl's Birthday, I decided to make a special cake.  It's not perfect, but my little girl got to help so it meant more.  I cut out the Hannah Montana's yesterday and thought that they would go very well with the butterfly cake.  ** Don't look at my messy table**.

Tomorrow is my beautiful little girl's Birthday!!!!!!  I'm so excited for her.  She (like most little girls) is in to Hannah Montana.  So I decorated this little bag for her.  I got the idea from Fantabulous Cricut.  They had a challenge this week to make some sort of 3D project and include the color black.  The bag is just made from a brown paper bag covered with printed paper, and of course Hannah Montana from the Disney Hannah Montana cartridge.  My DH bought some smaller items for our little girl and I thought this would be the perfect little thing for them.

**Side Note - you really need to check out the Fantabulous Cricut, they are featuring a company called Stamp Out Online.  They have the cutest custom made stamps for a signature for a card.  I really like them a lot!!!!**

Peachy Keen Challenge

Well, I think I love Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge blog!!!!!  They have a challange this week to follow the pattern shown below.  They always have the cutest ideas!!!

This worked perfectly for me because I needed to make some birthday cards but ran out of ideas.  This helped and I think they are super cute!!!!!!!
