Scrapbookaholic Challenge

Hello my friends!  I know it's been a VERY long time since I have posted anything!!  I'm sure your lives have been as busy as mine; isn't summer always that way?!!!!!!  This week at Scrapbookaholic by Abby the challenge is to create anything summer!!  When I hear summer, I think camping.  With camping comes fishing. :)  Summer also means Birthday's for us.  We have one in May, one in August and mine is July.  So for the challenge I thought I would combine fishing with Birthdays. 

You can see that the little fish is hiding in the waves; when you pull it out you'll see that "Fishing you a Happy Birthday" is stamped on the back of the fish. :)

The waves are from Paper Doll Dress up.  I merged two waves together using my Gypsy and layered them using foam squares.  The fish is from Create a Critter.

FIF Birthday Bash Bunny Blog Hop!

HELLO FRIDAY!!!!!!  Anyone else in need of a Friday?!  I'm so happy you're here (both you and Friday)!

Welcome to Flaunt It Fridays Birthday Bunny Bash Blog Hop!!! :)  I hope you came after visiting Amanda at My Scrappin Obsession.  Didn't she do such a great job?!  She's so talented!!  If you just happened to visit my blog for the day, make sure you start at the beginning at Flaunt It Fridays. :)  You'll want to make sure you visit everyone and leave a comment at all of the blogs to be eligible for the Grand Prize - a Peachy Keen Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed assortment!  YEAH!!!

On to my projects! :)

The first one isn't the prettiest thing, but I love the idea (I'm sure a lot of you can make it look even better). :)  This is my way of keeping track of annual events such as Birthdays and Anniversaries. :)

I kept this one super simple.  I used Create A Critter for the Bunny as well as for the present.  The ribbon and the frame were from my stash, I'm not sure where they came from.  I did use some flocking for the bunny (just to add a little bit to it).








I'm sure most of you are much better at remembering to send cards to family for Birthdays and Anniversaries!  After school started, I saw a bunch of these 3x5 card holders on sale for less than a dollar.  They've been sitting in my 're-porpose' box calling my name. :)  I came up with this idea to help me keep organized.  I printed off all of the annual events on 3x5 cards.  I also made the labels for the separators for each month and one for addresses (because I can never find them when I need them).  Very simple, yet very helpful.  It makes it very nice to be able see what is coming up within the next month and making the card a little early to get it sent on time. :)

For my second project we were supposed to make something using a different cut from Birthday Bash.  Looking through the images online, I found a cute little snail that was holding an envelope. It inspired me to make this card.

 I used Base Camp for the card shape (to look like a stamp).  The snail is from Walk In My Garden, and the grass is from Paper Doll Dress Up. :)  I inked around the grass, the snail and the base paper to give a little bit of dimension.  The stamped message is a My Pink Stamper stamps.

Flaunt it Fridays DT Post

I LOVE FIF!!!!  These are so much fun; and always such a challenge (in a good way).  This week at Flaunt It Fridays the challenge is to use the little ballerina dancer on Twinkle Toes.  She is adorable, but unfortunately I don't have the Twinkle Toes cart.  In place of the dancer I used my trusty Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge with the little dancer. 

Isn't she cute?!  She was cut out at 3.  I used a PK Princess face for her (of course) and just used colored pencils to brighten up her cheeks and lips. :)  I added a bit of bling to her waist (because everyone needs bling). :)  The word 'Dance' was cut from Ashlyn's Alphabet cartridge at 1.  The rest of the phrase was printed off on my computer.  The phrase is one that my family and I live by.  We dance while we do chores and we really love to dance for fun too (anyone else play 'Just Dance 2' on the Wii?)!  I used my Crop-o-dile to punch holes and add the eyelets that the ribbon went through.  Like most times, I can't remember where the background paper came from (sorry).

Fabulous Fall Blog Hop - Day 3 (Last Day)

Oh, so sad!!!!  This has been fun!  I love the Fall and this blog hop was indeed FABULOUS!!! :)  If you came here first make sure you start at the beginning with Cheryl at Cards by CG. :)


So for the last day of the blog hop I wanted to make something that reminds me of blessed I am (especially with Thanksgiving just around the corner).  I decided to make a Thankful Tree.  This tree will actually be hanging on our fridge year round.  This month we'll write our blessings (one a day) on the leaves, next month we'll cut out some Christmas ornaments, January will do snowflakes and so on.

The background paper is from the DCWV Recyled pack (again - I know, I just love it) :)  The tree is cut from Paper Doll Dress Up.  My Mother-in-Law gave me the leaves a while ago (she said she'd never use them), so I decided to use these instead of cutting more out (although I could have used the Gypsy Wanderings to get the same type of leaf).

80's Blog Hop Day 7

At least I warned you. :)  Today's post is dedicated to all of those that had (or have *no judgment*) a MY LITTLE PONY!!!!!!!!  Come on!!!!  You remember these, right?  There were some with color changing hair, sparkly hair, glittered bodies, EVERYTHING!  I loved playing with them, and now my little girl has a few.  I actually thought this card would be cute for my little girl to give one of her friends.  My little girl LOVES giving cards to all her friends, family and anyone else that even smiles at her (Gee - I wonder where she gets that from?*sarcastic!*). :)  I think any little girl would have fun with this one (especially with all of the sparkle).

The pony is from Paper Doll Dress Up, but the rainbow/heart is from Create a Critter.  I used a marker to trace the cuts and used the non-brand Stickles for anything and everything on the pony.  The stamp is from My Pink Stamper (LOVE THEM) and the purple paper was punched using an MS punch.

80's Blog Hop Day 4

I have to say the wonderful thing about crafting is that you get to make something your own.  I figured this would happen, but it looks like I'm not the only one that loved (OK, still LOVES) Ghostbusters! I know that Mary at CardzTV had a very similar idea.   Since today is Halloween, I knew this was the card for me to post today!    

The ghost is from Paper Doll Dress Up and the sign is one that I made using my Gypsy (I can't remember what cartridges I used to make it).  I printed off the saying.  The background paper was given to me and I didn't see a company name on it.

80's Blog Hop Day 2

"HAAAAAY YOOOUUUU GUUUYYYS!" (HAHAHAHA - I'm laughing so hard!) :)

 Welcome to day 2 of Raven's 80's Blog Hop (we're celebrating her Birthday)!! **I'm posting every day until I announce the winner on November 5th, comment on each post for more chances to win the blog candy!**  For Day 2 started thinking about what movies I remember watching.  One of my favorites is/was Goonies!  HAHAHAHA - I'm still laughing!  Ok, sorry!  On to the card!

This one is a slight change in a tri-fold/Z-fold/S-fold type card.  The main difference is that it opens up and down and the treasure box actually holds the fold down instead of being on the fold.  I really liked how this one turned out!!  The treasure chest is from Paper Doll Dress Up and the saying was just printed.   The paper is from my scrap box.  I think the wood paper is from the DCWV recycle pack (sorry can't remember the exact name), and I really don't remember where the striped paper is from. :)

I know, Déjà vu!

This card is similar to a card I made for my Dad for Fathers Day, but it's still cute (if I do say so myself). One of my little brothers is serving an LDS mission in Slovenia. His birthday is coming up soon and my parents are sending him a care package. What is a care package without a card (especially from his niece and nephew). When I asked my little ones what they remember and love most about him, they told me that it was that he took them to feed the horses. Yes, it's the same answer they have for just about all of my family, but I know it means a lot to my little ones.

Hidden Element

Over at Polka Doodles they have a challenge going on right now.  The challenge is to create something that has a hidden element.  Here's my take on the challenge.

I used Paper Doll Dress Up for the little bat.  I used a Cricut marker to trace it, then cut the bat out.  The letters are actually cut outs I had that matched perfectly.  The patterned paper is some of the beautiful paper I won from Serenity Scrappers.  Isn't it the cutest paper ever?!!!!!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday Mom!!

For those that know a little about me you know that anytime I make a card for a family member I always have my children help with ideas (makes it more personal).  So, for my Mom's Birthday I asked the kids what they love best about Grandma.  The first response was going to feed the horses (they say this for just about anyone in my family), the second thing was that they love when she takes them swimming.  So, this is what I came up with. 

I had little helper hands that wanted to help me glue, ink, and use the pens so you can see a few shiny spots on the paper were the glue was spilled and a few ink mess-ups.  The card didn't turn out exactly as I planned it, but it was something specially made from my little ones.  My little girl really had a hand in this one.  She's the oldest Grandchild on my side of the family and seems to have a very special place in her Grandma's heart - so she wanted to make sure that she . . . helped. :)  Thanks for stopping by!!! :)

For this card I just used the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge, and the stamp is one of those dollar stamps I found a long time ago.

Halloween Card - Whimsical Wednesday Challenge

Well, a few posts back you'll see that I was fortunate enough to win the October 31 solutions cart from Rosy at Sweet Delights Paper and More.  Well, I LOVE this cart!!!  It's perfect (for those that Love Halloween).  Stephanie over at Always Crafting is having a challenge to create something with the Mini Monsters cartridge, if you have it; if you don't own it (like me) you can make something Halloween or Fall - ish. :)  YEAH!!!!  An . . . excuse . . . to use my October 31 cartridge (Yeah - I'll find any excuse)!  I thought I might try one of those gate cards that everyone has been doing - I know, I'm always the last to the party. :)  So without further ado - here's my creation.

The patterned paper is from Stampin' Up.  I'm not sure if they still have it or not - a wonderful friend of mine is a demonstrator and she gave me a bunch of scraps (YEAH!) and some of the old paper that is going out. :)  Of course for the window I used the October 31st cart and the cute little ghosts are from Paper Doll Dress Up.  I cut the ghosts out in a velum type paper so that they seem a little see-through.  I traced their eyes and mouth with a fine tipped pen, since I don't own any of those cri-kit pens yet. :)  Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Fishin' a Happy Birthday

GRRRRR - is all I can say to my final result!  Don't get me wrong - I loved the challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps! They challenged to use the color scheme and sketch below. 

I was trying to make this really cute (yet masculine), but had a few problems along the way.  Long story short - It worked, but not as planned; I ended up having to write the sentiment (that's where the GRRRR comes in).  My Dear Father-In-Law's Birthday is right around the corner.  One of the things my kids love to do with Grandpa is go fishing so this was the card we came up with. 

I used the sketch and colors from Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge, but I flipped it upside down to fit.  Like I said - not the way I wanted it to look, but it will mean a lot to him because it's from his grandkids.  I did end up doodling a little before we sent it - forgetful me forgot to take another picture, sorry!  I used the Camp Out cart for the fishing pole, the fish is from Paper Doll Dress Up, and the waves are from Plantin Schoolbook.  Pay no attention to the terrible inking job, it's a skill I still don't have mastered. :)  Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

My wonderful sister bought some cute clothes for my little girl for school.  Of course they are the cutest clothes (purchased at a garage sale) and are perfect for my little girl's taste.  My sister is so absolutely amazing, so of course we wanted to make a card for her to thank her for all of the clothes.  Thanks so much Tammy!!!

Halloween Challenge

Erin Lee Creative is putting on a challenge to create something Halloween-ish.  :)  I have wanted to make something cute for my little girl's Kindergarten class for Halloween (I know - it's a little early).  I found the little baggies at a local store for only $2 and it had 100 in a pack.  It didn't turn out the way I had originally planned - you can see my mistake in the white under the black 'Boo'.  Unfortunately I don't have any Halloween stamps, so I just wrote on it.  I thought that the little spider was cute. :)  I also wanted to keep it simple since I will be making quite a few of them.  Thanks for stopping by!

For this one I cut the spider web using October 31, and the spider is from Paper Doll Dress Up.  I inked the outside of the spider and drew the eyes (since I don't own any Peachy Keen stamps yet either).

Father's Day

I just have to say that I have some amazing men in my life.  My dearest Husband (who is such a great Dad to our children), my amazing Dad, and my sweet Dad-in-law.  With Father's Day coming up I had a chance to make some cards.  I also read that My Pink Stamper is having a challenge to create a Father's Day project; I figured I needed these cards, so I wanted to make them.  One thing that I make sure to do is talk to my little ones and ask them what they love about each Grandpa and their Daddy.

My kids told me that one of their favorite things about my Dad is that they love to go feed the horses with him.  Each time we go down they make sure to buy carrots to feed to the neighbor's horses (they checked with the neighbors to make sure it was OK).  Such a simple thing, but it means the world to my little ones.  So for my Dad I made this card using the Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge and a few pop dots (love those things).

When asked, my children told me that their favorite thing about their Daddy was when they play with him, and when they go 4-wheeling (a family activity).  This was made using the Camp Out cartridge (the best one for my family).  I hope my Hubby likes it. :)  My kids even picked out the colors to match his 4-wheeler.

 I didn't get a chance to make one for my wonderful Dad-in-law yet.  Just wait, I really want to make a good one (just not enough time).  I'll get it done soon though!!!! :)
