80's Blog Hop Day 6

Ok, I'll be honest.  I LOVED Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles growing up.  My brothers and I were big fans.  I actually made this card for one of my brothers (just to put a smile on his face).  I know that there are four turtles; I put two turtles on the inside of the card (which I forgot to take a picture of).  I admit I really don't like how this card turned out; oh well, it happens. :)  It still reminds me of the 80's so I thought it would be fun!!! :)

The turtles are from Animal Kingdom.

80's Blog Hop Day 5

OK, ready?!  "CARE BEAR STARE!!!!!"  - HAHAHAHAHAHA!  I think I'm having way to much fun with this hop!!!  (THANKS RAVEN!!!!!)

One of my favorite gifts I received from Santa when I was little was a Care Bear (does that give away my age?!)!!  I actually held onto it and now it belongs to my little girl. :)   I love how this one turned out! 

 The bear is from (yeah, go ahead and roll your eyes) Create A Critter.  I trimmed the shadow, she normally has a skirt/dress on.  I actually tried using the flocking stuff on her snout and belly.  I'm not sure what I think, but I'd love to hear your HONEST thoughts!!!

I have to say the wonderful thing about crafting is that you get to make something your own.  I figured this would happen, but it looks like I'm not the only one that loved (OK, still LOVES) Ghostbusters! I know that Mary at CardzTV had a very similar idea.   Since today is Halloween, I knew this was the card for me to post today!    

The ghost is from Paper Doll Dress Up and the sign is one that I made using my Gypsy (I can't remember what cartridges I used to make it).  I printed off the saying.  The background paper was given to me and I didn't see a company name on it.

I'm so excited!!!  I'm not sure if you all know Bryan at ScrapGuy's Paper Crafting Adventure.  He really is amazing (I know you guys here me say stuff like this all the time), but he's really amazing!!!  I meant to post earlier, but I found out that I won the 'Thriller' stamp set from CTMH!  I'm so excited!!!!  Make sure you stop by his blog and tell him 'hi'; you'll love his creations! :)

Yep, it's Day 3 of Raven's 80's blog hop! **I'm posting every day until I announce the winner on November 5, comment on each post for more chances to win the blog candy!**  This one is another VERY simple card, but I thought it might be fun!  I HATED/LOVED my Rubik's cube.  So much fun to play with, yet so frustrating (and yes, I know there's a trick, but I still get frustrated). :)  Like I said, very simple; fun though!

80's Blog Hop Day 2

"HAAAAAY YOOOUUUU GUUUYYYS!" (HAHAHAHA - I'm laughing so hard!) :)

 Welcome to day 2 of Raven's 80's Blog Hop (we're celebrating her Birthday)!! **I'm posting every day until I announce the winner on November 5th, comment on each post for more chances to win the blog candy!**  For Day 2 started thinking about what movies I remember watching.  One of my favorites is/was Goonies!  HAHAHAHA - I'm still laughing!  Ok, sorry!  On to the card!

This one is a slight change in a tri-fold/Z-fold/S-fold type card.  The main difference is that it opens up and down and the treasure box actually holds the fold down instead of being on the fold.  I really liked how this one turned out!!  The treasure chest is from Paper Doll Dress Up and the saying was just printed.   The paper is from my scrap box.  I think the wood paper is from the DCWV recycle pack (sorry can't remember the exact name), and I really don't remember where the striped paper is from. :)

It's TOTALLY a Blog Hop!!

I can't tell you how totally excited I am!!!!  I'm guessing you came from Kassidy from Inking it Up Crazy (isn't she talented?!!)  If you happen to be checking up on me, make sure you start at the beginning of the hop with Raven at Love 4 Stamps.  We're celebrating the 80's for Raven, she's celebrating her Birthday and thought it would be fun to flash back to the 80's; don't worry, we'll be flashing back for the next week.  Get out those leg warmers and flash back with us; and I hope you've had fun so far! :)

I can't tell you how much I was just LAUGHING at my own cards (don't worry, you can laugh too)! :)  Here's my first card to start off the hop:

One of my first thoughts when I heard '80's' was thinking back to those shirt ties.  You know the ones I'm talking about - they look like a 'no' sign or a circle with a line through it.  I used to have a BUNCH of those things; all in florescent colors of course!!!!  So . . . I had to make my first card of the week with the brightest colors I had,  and of course those shirt tie things.  To answer your question - yes, the shirt/ribbon tie things on the card move (my kids loved playing with them). :)  This card was really simple, but still fun. 

Moving on to the blog candy.  Like I said earlier, we'll be flashing back for a whole week (WAHOO)!  So to be entered into the blog candy all you have to do is:

I've Been Surprised and Boo'd!!!!!

I am in complete SHOCK!!!!  I hope many of you know Diane from Scraps By Ownhomedog, if you don't know her - jump on over, you won't regret it (tell her Celeste said 'hi')!!!!!  Diane is so creative!!  I love following stalking her blog, she is an amazing crafter!!!  One of my previous posts I had mentioned that I used non-brand Stickles and that I didn't own the actual Stickles.  Well, Diane said that she had purchased duplicate Stickles and would love to send me some.  **Visual me smiling ear to ear** When I got home from hunting I found this box and a big envelope (more info below) in my mailbox.  I was a little taken back by the size of the box (knowing that Stickles are very small) and this is what I found inside:

I still can't believe it!  All of that beautiful paper, stamps, stickers, ribbons, brads, buttons, bling (Stickles) . . . WOW!!!  Diane - THANK YOU!!!!  You have no idea how much you made my day!!!!!!

On to the large envelope in my mailbox along with the box.

For those of you that know Rhonda over at Scrap Happens, you know that she is also a very giving person.  She gives away these AMAZING mini albums.  Let me tell you - they are TRULY AMAZING!!!!!!  She sent me a mini album (I posted about it here) that got lost in the mail!! :(
  We're not sure what happened, but all we know is that I got an empty envelope.  She was sweet enough to send me a different mini album for me to use for our outdoor pictures.  Well, as a surprise to me, she just sent me a Halloween mini album!!!!!!!!!  For no reason at all!!!!!!!!!!!  AWWWWW!!  She sent a little note telling me I've been "Boo'd".  HAHA!  I laughed so hard - I don't mind being boo'd. :)  Here are the pictures of her amazing album!

Fun Day Pumpkin Carving

OK, this post fits under the 'Crafts' part. :)  This starts with a very funny story.  My little boy loves to watch a show called, 'Special Agent Oso' on Disney channel.  He loves it because Agent Oso helps children do simple things like buttoning a shirt, brushing your teeth, doing the dishes and recently he helped to carve a pumpkin.  My little boy just had to carve one of his own.  So today we went to our local store and each of my little ones got to pick a pumpkin.  We got home and they told me what they wanted to have carved in their pumpkins.  My little ones 'helped' clean out the pumpkin guts (which my little boy didn't like very much),  they 'helped' poke the holes for the design and then 'helped' cut the design. :)  We had fun - then again, anytime you get to make a big mess it's fun!!  Here's the end result:

Our Little Butterfly

Our little girl just got her pictures back from school this week. She was so excited . . . OK; I admit it, both me and my hubby were excited too (she's our oldest, what do you expect?!)!!!!! We had to send a picture to my parents (oldest grandchild - you know their excited too)! We made a cute card to hold the picture of our beautiful little butterfly!
The butterflies are from Gypsy Wanderings. I can't remember what font I used - sorry!!! The paper was from my scrap box so I'm not sure where the butterfly paper came from. I know - I need to do better at keeping track of stuff like that!! :) Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Tons of Fun!!

I am LOVING this cartridge!! I have to thank you ladies for helping me out! I've been playing with my new Create A Critter cartridge along with my stamps that I got from Jen at The Purple Scrapbooker. I love these stamps from My Pink Stamper. These are the cutest stamps ever! Well I made a few cards for some wonderful friends, but I wanted to play with the cart a little more. I'm a very basic color person - I have a hard time making ladybugs pink and green instead of just red and black. I know - I'm a little weird like that!!! :) I made this card to try and stretch my mind and because I think this hippo is the cutest thing EVER!!!! :) Looking at her - I think she needs a flower by her ear (sorry - I just noticed that). :)
I used my new border punch too (with the 50% off MS items at Michael's). That reminds me, I would love to hear every one's opinion about Tweezer Bees. I've been trying to get some, they just never have them at Michael's and I live too far away to check every day (an hour and a half drive). I'm just curious if they're worth ordering online someplace; any opinions?! I'd love to hear them!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Deep Breath

I'm back!! Once again - I'm so sorry for the lack of posts as well as the lack of visits to every one's blog! I'm back to reality with my little ones (while their Dad is still hunting). I have a lot on my plate and am happy to get back to it! I have three blog hops that I will be participating in at the end of this month and the beginning of the next. More info is coming on those! I am also helping out with Halloween things for the elementary school; AND helping with a craft day for my church (Super Saturday). I'm helping to plan, purchase and teach for the craft day. I'm really excited, but again - it's a lot on my plate!

I also forgot to thank all of you wonderful friends!!! I decided to get the Create a Critter cartridge. I'm (TERRIBLY) behind on sending some thank you cards, but I'll be posting some cards made with my new cart (YEAH!!!!)!!! They're all designed, just waiting to be cut. I'll post more tomorrow! Just Because

This card turned out better than I originally hoped! I made it for one of the ladies in my church group. She was helping me with a couple of things and I wanted to give her a card to thank her for everything.
